The little mice headed back into the big city. The train station felt far more comfortable today--D even remarked it reminded her of Tokyo, albeit a bit grimier.
We met with L's friend at a lovely restaurant in Uptown New York: Tao. The beautiful dark wood and amazing food provided a perfectly long lunch...and a chance for us to catch up on our lives.
The ceiling was quite stunning...
...as was the food!
After lunch, D went on to the Metropolitan Museum of Art while L met with a friend she met in the 90s.
The leaves are starting to change in Central Park...
...and this funky timepiece was also worth a look.
The 1930-1 Thomas Hart Benton piece America Today--Instruments of Power made a huge impression on D.
The Met museum is amazing...
...but exhausting!
There is a grand staircase in Giorgio Armani on 5th Avenue. A great place for a drink and catch up with an old friend...
Dinner was real New York pizza...
Starting with a salad...
...and ending with a 'white pie,' made of Ricotta and Mozzarella cheeses.
Coming back to the hotel, we were caught in the subway crush of the NY rush hour and people trying to watch the Mets in the playoffs. Another fun NY experience.
