Breakfast in NY, lunch in Baltimore, dinner in DC

We had a bit of a gastronomical day! Breakfast was at our hotel in New York before we checked out and sat in Big Apple traffic for far too long.  Luckily the skyline was fabulous from the highway...
And along the way there were some impressive leaf changes to see (difficult to photograph at 75 miles per hour)
A new state--Delaware! The home of Joe Biden (and lots of chickens, apparently)
Next up was Maryland--birthplace of Fredrick Douglass and David Hasselhof :)
And then Baltimore--the birthplace of the Star Spangled Banner and Babe Ruth and the resting place of Edgar Allen Poe.
This was our route through New York state, New Jersey, Delaware and into Maryland.
We stopped in Baltimore's Inner Harbour area for some fresh seafood.
We started with hush puppies...
...and moved on to fried oysters, steamed soft shell crab, and fried soft shell crab (ya eat the entire crab--shell and all).
And then we headed south west to the nation's capital to stay with some fabulous South African friends for a few days. Nice to be with friends D hasn't seen since 2010.
And we even had some lovely views along the way...
